Paweł Hordyniec received the Ph.D. in satellite geodesy from Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland in 2019. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland.
During multiple research visits in 2014-2017 he has been working closely with scientists from National Central University, Taiwan and the National Space Organization, Taiwan on the development of inversion algorithms for the GNSS radio occultation technique. In 2018-2020 he was a Research Fellow at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia exploring monitoring capabilities of GNSS radio occultation observations over the Australian and Antarctic regions. He was awarded with 2020 COSPAR Outstanding Paper Award for Young Scientists by COSPAR Scientific Commission A. Dr. Hordyniec is also a recipient of Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland. Supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange as part of the Bekker programme he was a Postdoc Researcher in 2022-2023 at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California San Diego, USA working on the forward operator for airborne GNSS radio occultations to improve forecasting of atmospheric river events over the northeast Pacific Ocean. His research interests are focused on applications of GNSS signals for the remote sensing of the atmosphere and ionosphere using observations from ground-based receivers and radio occultation satellites, numerical simulation methods and anomalous propagation of radio signals.
